The Pro Bono Publico Foundation welcomes applications for grants. The grant application deadline is July 15. Grants are typically awarded once each year to schools and supporting organizations working toward ensuring that all children in New Orleans have access to an excellent education.

Our grant application process consists of two phases: Round One and Round Two.

  • Round One Application Documents are accepted from June 1 through July 15.
  • Applicants invited to advance submit Round Two Documents by October 1.
  • Grant announcements are made by year end.

Round One (Submission deadline July 15):

Three Round One documents are due by July 15:

  1. Grant Application Form; and
  2. Proposal Narrative no more than 3 pages; and
  3. Grant Agreement

Round Two (Submission deadline October 1):

Applicants selected for further consideration following Round One are notified to submit the following documents by October 1:

  1. Organizational Budget; and
  2. Program Budget; and
  3. Most Recent Audit; and
  4. Most Recent Financial Report; and
  5. Most Recent IRS Form 990; and
  6. IRS Determination Letter [501(c)(3) and/or 509(a)]; and
  7. List of Board of Directors and Key Organizational Staff; and
  8. Annual Report.

The grant application and documents due are included or described in “PBPF Grant Application and Instructions”.  The application and documents should be submitted as pdf files, via email to manager@probonopublicofoundation.org. Please include all documents for each round in a single email. Please do not submit Round Two documents with Round One documents.

Who We Are

The Pro Bono Publico Foundation takes its name from the motto of the Rex Organization, which means “For the Public Good.” The Foundation raises funds and makes grants to help organizations engaged in improving the New Orleans region, with a special focus on education. Most grants have been awarded to schools and supporting organizations working toward the goal of assuring that all children in New Orleans have access to excellent schools.

Eligibility

Nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations serving the greater New Orleans region.

Grant Amount

Open, but generally less than $25,000.

Funding Priorities

Innovative and effective programs and organizations serving the citizens of the New Orleans region, with a special focus on education. Most grants in past cycles have been awarded to schools and supporting organizations working toward the goal of assuring that all children in New Orleans have access to excellent schools.

Reporting and Evaluation

Grant recipients are asked to provide an annual one-page summary documenting the use of grant proceeds and progress made on funded programs. This report is due within one year of the award date.
